Nuala Goodman
Nuala Goodman is an Irish artist who lives in Milan. She draws, paints portraits, designs textiles, exhibits and occasionally curates for the OPW in Ireland. Over a thirty year period connected to the world of fashion and design in Italy she has collaborated with Ettore Sottsass, Fiorucci. Alessi, Swatch, Moroso, Nilufar Gallery, Pellini, Paul Smith, Luisa Via Roma, 10 Corso Como, Biffi and others. A high point was her solo museum show ‘Gardens’ at Palazzo Fortuny in Venice several years agowhere she was invited to reinterpret Mariano Fortuny’s eclectic style in a contemporary way. Avant garde furniture company ‘Moroso’ were the technical sponsors of the exhibition. She is currently researching and making a series of textile tapestries for historic design brand ‘SaporitiItalia’ and collaborating with design auction house Artemest. She teaches Project Methodology and Textile Design to fashion design students at NABA, ( Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) in Milan and Rome. Her work is represented in the permanent collection of the Fortuny Museum,Venice, The Office of Public Works, Newman House and the U2 offices in Dublin as well as in numerous private collections.
